Description
Since its foundation in 2006, The Nectar, an independent Belgian bottler, has been looking for the best spirits to share with professionals and the consumer. Initially focused on whiskies of all origins, their passion has expanded to include other spirits, including rum, armagnac, cognac and more recently calvados and grappa.
Tasting notes
Nose : Here comes a Sherry bomb ! Du vieux cuir mélangé à des épices chaudes et douces, cannelle, girofle, muscade. Viennent ensuite les fruits séchés avec des cerises, des raisins et des dattes, mais aussi de la figue fraîche, et des prunes juteuses. A l’aération, quelques notes de chocolat blanc et au lait, de la bergamote et de la fleur d’oranger. Pour renforcer un peu plus son côté sombre, on trouve aussi un peu de bonbon caramel moka et des notes de PX.
Palate : Sur le chocolat noir cette fois mais toujours avec ce caramel, ou plutôt ce sirop de datte avec un soupçon de cardamone noire. Comme une impression de thé chai, très concentré avec quelques notes de milky oolong et de lapsang souchong. It’s tea time !
Overall : Prunes Umeboshi fermentées, vanille de Madagascar et bois de oud brûlé, ainsi que quelques notes fruitées plus ‘tropicales’ avec du kaki et de la goyave.
