Une hérésie ! Entendons-nous bien : il n'est pas "mauvais" stricto sensu, mais c'est une horrible déception. Le caractère si typique du Caol Ila est érodé par le vieillissement en fûts de Jerez, et le "fini" attendu par lesdits fûts est écrasé par la tourbe du Caol Ila. C'est un machin bâtard. Est-ce que vous feriez un cari avec du porc fumé vosgien ? Non, bien sûr ! Eh bien c'est ce qu'ils font avec ce "PX finish" ! Non, non, Caol Ila : restez sur les méthodes traditionnelles qui ont fait leurs preuves. Je regrette cet achat, surtout à ce prix. Heureusement que pour me consoler j'ai aussi d'autres whiskies finis en fûts de bons vins, mais des plus classiques : Arran et Ninkasi...
