BUFFALO TRACE 2008 Single Barrel - Cask 025 - 60th Anniversary LMDW 45%
Bourbon, United States / Kentucky, 1L, Ref: 52052B
cask 025 - This Buffalo Trace strikes an almost perfect balance throughout the tasting experience, structured around an exceptionally elegant woodiness, a fruitiness that is never too far away, spices that express themselves with the noblest of touches, a saline undercurrent that is particularly mouth-watering, and incredibly delicate floral notes. The icing on the cake is the almost cinematic way in which the maize is brought into the spotlight, giving this version tremendous soul and authenticity.
Profile: the nose is dynamic, fluctuating between salted caramel, fresh walnuts and candied apricots, before the maize gains the upper hand. Notes of marmalade. The palate is herbal (vervain) and spicy (ginger, paprika). The finish is delicately woody with a hint of praline.

- Nose : vibrant, refined. Salted butter caramel, fresh walnuts and candied apricots emerge in the initial nose. It then eases its way into splendidly luminous notes of maize that dazzle with their authenticity. Marmalade and fig jam gradually coat the aromatic palette.
- Palate : clean, resolute. Particularly herbal (lime blossom, verbena) and vanilla-scented, the attack on the palate also boasts a deeply expressive salinity and spiciness. Candied ginger, pink peppercorns and paprika refresh the mid-palate that becomes more rustic upon airing (wildflower, moss). The end of the palate evokes almond-scented marmalade.
- Overall : soft, silky. Eager to place maize at the heart of its journey, it also reveals delicate woody, praline character. An oriental influence brings notes of Turkish delight and rose petals. The retro-nasal olfaction is creamy (vanilla flan) and fruity (coconut). The empty glass is dominated by cereals and spices (pepper, cinnamon).
