SIETE LEGUAS

Founded in 1952, Siete Leguas is one of the gems of the Mexican tequila industry. It was named by its founder, Don Ignacio Gonzalez Vargas, in homage to an emblematic figure of the Mexican revolution: Pancho Villla, and his horse Siete Legas, who together travelled the country. It was at this distillery that Patron tequila (St. Maarten Spirits) was produced up until the beginning of the millennium. Siete Leguas has since developed its own range of tequila produced using agave juice extracted using the company’s two mills: El Centenario (1942) and La Vencedora (1956). The mills are worked by seven mules from Arkansas that take turns to turn the wheels.
