GLEN BRETON

Following a long legal battle with the Scotch Whisky Association, the Glenora distillery can finally market its single malt under its original name, Glen Breton. The debate centred around the use of the word “Glen”, which the Association deemed too Scottish to be used for a Canadian single malt. Founded at the end of the 1980s, Glenora was built by David Forsyth, a Canadian architect of Scottish descent. This name resonates in the industry due to its similarity to the famous company that manufactures the majority of Scottish stills. The whisky was first bottled in the autumn of 2000. This was an eight year old single malt.
