"Teaspooning" was introduced in the 1980s by William Grant & Sons. By "teaspooning" their malts, they protect their brand from independent bottlers who market casks bought on the open market as single malts. This eighth batch of this teaspooned whisky is a 24 year old hogshead aged whisky, an edition of only 285 bottles. Tasting notes
Nose : Quite delicate initially, this slowly reveals its nature. Floral vanilla notes, rich, set honey, on buttered rye toast, and some hints of citrus.
Palate : Those rich, honey notes continue onto the palate, sweet brioche, creamy vanilla, hints of nuts, alongside rich oak, and some exotic spices linger#P,& wild fennel.
