The brand
Using the most famous single malts of the Isle of Islay, including Bowmore, Caol Ila, Ardbeg and Port Ellen, the Douglas Laing company has created an original blended malt (a blend of various single malts). Its label features a picture of Pete the Ileach being hit by a strong gust of wind. Big Pete is both a tribute to the residents of the island and a play on the word “peat”. A celebration of the Isle of Islay - of its inhabitants, its weather and its whisky - Big Peat is un-chillfiltered and comes in three sizes - small, medium and large - enough to satisfy the needs of all its fans, even the most lionhearted!
The line
The Remarkable Regional Malts range is a series of blended malts created to represent the unique characteristics of each Scotch whisky producing region. Bottled in the purest tradition, without coloration or cold filtration, these whiskies offer a journey to the heart of the Scottish terroir.
