Tasting note

  • Appearance : vieil or à reflets cuivrés.
  • Nose : fin, concentré. De jolies notes végétales (foin coupé, lierre), des fleurs capiteuses (tilleul, pivoine) et des fruits noirs (cerise, mûre) témoignent de sa complexité. Les épices (girofle, badiane) et les piments assurent un tempo rapide et enlevé. Tertiaire, il évolue sur le chocolat noir, le cuir et le pruneau.
  • Palate : nuancée, délicate. Ton sur ton avec le nez, elle se montre épicée et pimentée, chocolatée et parfumée (fleur d’oranger). Duveteuse, elle rappelle ensuite le granuleux de la peau de pêche. La fève de cacao, la noix grillée et la poudre de riz lui procurent beaucoup de chair et de volupté
  • Overall : fine, ses tannins sont veloutés. Changeante, elle révèle tour à tour des fruits juteux (pêche abricotée), secs (datte, amande), de la vanille-bourbon, de la réglisse verte et des notes de terre humide et de menthe. En point d’orgue, l’orge maltée nous ramène à plus de classicisme.

Le whisky irlandais renait de ses cendres ! Avec ses frères Green Spot, Yelloh Spot, ce Red Spot illustre combien le whiskey irlandais peut faire de bien belles choses. Que les 15 ans lui vont bien. Un whiskey qui dose à merveille la douceur fruitée, pommes au four, mangue qui évolue vers le cuir et finit en notes poivrées. Quelle finale ! Les épices dOrient vous mènent en voyage, loin de la verte Irlande.
