BENRIACH Cask Strength Batch 1 57,2%
Single Malt Whisky, Scotland / Speyside, 70cl, Ref: 51490
With all the classic BenRiach characteristics, BenRiach batch 1 is the first Cask Strength expression to be added to the core range. Straight from the cask to the bottle, this Speyside whisky is non-chill filtered and at its natural colour. Voluptuous sweet taste of honey, soft fruits and gentle spices – but at a cask strength of 57.2% ABV, it packs a real punch!

- Appearance : gleaming harvest gold with a burnished copper edge.
- Nose : sweet toasted oak spices are interwoven with roasted orchard fruits and dusted with cracked barley. Black vanilla pods, desiccated coconut and a gentle floral note add complexity to the ripe, fruit-laden nose.
- Palate : creamy heather honey pours over a medley of apples, pears and apricots. Subtle notes of candied peel and fresh ginger give a delicate warmth.
- Overall : a classic combination of vanilla, toasted coconut and sweet barley in the luscious, velvety finish.
- The brand
Rather unjustly, Benriach was, until just a few years ago, relatively unknown, but it hasn’t ceased to make up for lost time. Indeed, this distillery has, for many decades, had a huge amount to offer and has proven this time and time again since being bought in 2004. Its warehouses are bursting with all sorts of sherry butts (Oloroso, Pedro Ximénez, etc.), new American oak casks, ex-bourbon barrels and hogsheads dating back to the 1960s, as well as casks previously used for wine, rum, madeira, port and even Rioja! This Speyside single malt is entirely worthy of the interest it has garnered from master blenders since its creation. Find out more
