This first expression is a single cask selected by the Cellar Master, Kely McKechnie, and aged in second-fill Spanish oak casks since 1973, bringing complexity and depth of flavour. After 50 years of ageing, The Balvenie Fifty remains faithful to the roundness and honeyed notes so emblematic of the distillery's whiskies.
The second and third editions will be launched in 2025 and 2026.
The second edition will be the result of a marriage between this first expression and a 1973 whisky aged in American Hogshead oak casks. For the third and final bottle, the second expression will be blended with a whisky aged in American oak casks, filled in 1974.
