Nose : fine, delicate. At first, rose petal, leather, candied apricot, a fine film of liquorice, emery cloth and exotic fruits (mango, guava) generously feed a very charming oxidation. Subtle, it becomes increasingly warm, with geranium blossom, root ginger, sugar cane, beeswax, dark chocolate and cocoa bean. It lingers with herbal notes of mint tea and orange blossom.
Appearance : mahogany with glints of orange and copper.
Palate : rich, concentrated. Full of energy, the attack shines through the quality of its unctuous, powdery (rice grain) and spicy (ginger, cinnamon, clove) texture. The very floral (vetiver, tuberose, iris) mid-palate is heady. At the end of the palate, this feeling of fullness is enhanced by the arrival of strong spices (star anise, cardamom, saffron). It continues with notes of cocoa bean, coffee bean and exotic fruit (passion fruit, persimmon).
Overall : long, assertive. With lots of presence, the slender finish reproduces the floral, fruity character of the palate. Overflowing with lyricism, it reveals fine dust particles trapped in a ray of light. Gradually, orange blossom, apricot honey and quince jelly fill the air with notes of forest floor (cep, dead leaves) and red fruits (raspberry, strawberry). The retronasal olfaction is fibrous (sugarcane), tarry and fruity (wild peach, candied apricot). The empty glass stunningly evokes an American rye whiskey.
