refined, complex. On the first nose, notes of freshly cut cane take centre-stage. Beeswax then underscores the influence of a very refined wood. Allowed to breathe, it develops notes of olive and forest floor (mushroom), tobacco, heady florals (geranium, rose) and heather. Gradually, intense aromas of stewed exotic fruits (mango, banana, pineapple) get the measure of an aromatic palette that has many more secrets to reveal.
elegant, balanced. With a very pleasant vegetal softness (cut hay, straw), the attack takes on the exotic register of the nose, whilst also being very spicy (pepper, candied ginger). The unctuous mid-palate is first chocolatey and apricotey, before becoming empyreumatic (pine resin, cedar). A delicious tapenade flavour brings out the rich and oily character of the end of the palate.
long, assertive. At the start of the finish, spice notes (ginger, cinnamon) appear alongside heady florals (geranium, frangipani). The expression of the terroir has reached its peak. Next, dried mango and candied lemon bring the energy required to ensure lots of length. On the retro-nasal olfaction, subtle herbaceous (verbena, sage) and chocolate notes shrewdly refresh the palate.
