All about making whisky
Single malt is a malt whisky made in a single malt distillery. The name of the distillery features on the label, such as: Yoichi, The Macallan, Bushmills, Glenkinchie, Laphroaig, Yamazaki.
There are generally as many single malts as there are working distilleries, or closed distilleries that still have ageing stock. Each distillery can create as many different expressions of its single malt as it likes. Most offer a range of between three and five. Some may offer more than twenty, which usually involves numerous special bottlings.
