All about making whisky
Established in 1872, the German company Schott Zwiesel has been a leading figure in the glass industry for over one hundred years. After many years of research in partnership with the Erlangen university, in 2002 Schott Zwiesel introduced a crystal glass made using a new technique which produces a particularly durable, lead-free crystal: Tritan®. This composition, combined with a new production technique and reinforcement of the areas of glass prone to breaks and cracks, has made it possible to increase the longevity and robustness of the glass and to preserve its shine without compromising its elegance.
The diversity of beers requires a variety of styles of glass. The Basic Beer series was created to bring out the best in each type of beer. Four sizes of glass for ‘white’ beers, wheat/Pilsner beers, lager and traditional English beers, and two glasses with a foot for Pilsner beers offer serious beer enthusiasts a stylish range of glasses with the perfect shape for their favourite drink. These elegant glasses are slightly wider at the top, thereby giving enough space for the foam to develop.
