All about making whisky
Made with Quebranta grapes, this Hacienda Pisco 1615 Gran Reserva initially highlights the very fruity character of wines produced from this red grape variety. Once aerated, it becomes extremely spicy and medicinal. With fleeting notes redolent of Junmaï Daï Ginjo sake, the empty glass is quite unusual, even surprising. The initial refined, complex nose has fruity and floral notes with honeyed and vinous (black grape) undertones. Develops with notes of tobacco and liquorice. These rich aromas then revert to white flowers and red fruits (raspberry, strawberry). The palate is firm and particularly taut. It then gains power with notes of spices (ginger, nutmeg).
