  • Appearance : vieil or.
  • Nose : riche, ferme. Des fruits confits (mirabelle, pomme) et des fleurs capiteuses (lys, iris) témoignent de l’extrême concentration du nez. De plus en plus aride, il évolue sur les fruits secs (noix, figue) avant de devenir réellement médicinal (baume, camphre) et aromatique (sauge, romarin). Des agrumes (citron) complètent ce tableau aromatique très resserré sur lui-même.
  • Palate : vive, tendue. Avec fraîcheur et dynamisme, son attaque fait preuve de beaucoup d’exotisme (ananas, mangue). Légèrement réglissée, elle évolue sur la noix de pécan et les pralines. Tertiaire, le milieu de bouche est marqué par des notes de champignons, de cuir et de châtaigne. Puis, des raisins frais et de Corinthe cohabitent en parfaite intelligence.
  • Overall : longue, distinguée. Elle nous fait ouvrir une cave à cigares : des parfums divins de tabac enrobent l’atmosphère. Déliée, elle oscille entre les fleurs capiteuses et les fruits de la passion. La rétro-olfaction est citronnée et muscatée. Le verre vide se montre pimpant de jeunesse.

The Pierre Ferrand estate is located in Angeac, in the golden triangle of Cognac, in the heart of the limestone terroir of Grande Champagne. Distillation is carried out in small pot stills (25 hl) in order to gain a maximum concentration of aromas, and the role of cellar master has been passed down from father to son through five generations. A grand terroir, small stills and ancient skills and expertise are all brought together to produce one of the best premier crus of Cognac. But the impressive skills of the house don’t end there! It also produces numerous gins and vodkas, as well as a liqueur and its own range of rums.
