Léon Marcel is a sparkling mistelle produced from Cognac. What actually is a mistelle? Mistelle is an aperitive where the fermentation of the 100% white Ugni grape juice has been stopped by the addition of cognac to be matured 12 months in oak casks. Mistelle is what was traditionally called “pineau champanisé” back in the 90’ – before the production was prohibited.
