All about making whisky
In 2014, Jim Beveridge, Johnnie Walker’s famous blender, created the Private Collection, a series of four limited editions. This collection of blends showcases Johnny Walker’s craftsmanship and innovation. Jim Beveridge selected 29 rare casks from the famous Johnnie Walker reserves and blended them together to create exceptional whiskies. For 2016, Private Collection will launch “Rare Honeyed Notes”, the third opus in the series. Rare Honeyed Notes is a complex blend of very old and rare single grain whiskies and Speyside malts. The result is a silky whisky with luscious notes of honey and an incredibly smooth texture. The 2016 edition is presented in a John Walker & Sons amber glass bottle reminiscent of the characteristic honey notes of this bottling.

From over 200 years of history, the House of Johnnie Walker has successfully developed unique and exceptional skills and expertise. It was in 1820, in Scotland, that John Walker first had the idea of selecting malts with different characters and bringing them together to create a whisky with a single taste and increased richness and balance. The Art of Blending was born. While distillation results from a fixed set of procedures, blending comes solely down to human skills - those of the Master Blender. Recognised by his peers as one of the greatest whisky blenders ever, Jim Beveridge has access to the largest and rarest whisky reserves in the world in order to continue the tradition of the House of Walker.
