A single malt from one of the last family distilleries in Scotland. Aged in sherry barrels, this version is creamy and well-balanced.
Amber colour with glints of green; the fresh, generous, spicy nose is relatively unctuous. The palate is drier, with notes of liquorice, sherry and spices, accompanied by a hint of peat. The finish is long with notes of liquorice and toasted cereal. A generous whisky offering good quality in a simple register.

An independent distillery since the 19th century, Glenfarclas can claim to produce one of the most traditional single malts in the world. The same type of stills have been used here since 1836; its single malts are aged predominantly in ex-sherry casks, even though these cost ten times more than their American counterparts; running the distillery requires at least 13 people, with the manipulation of its 52,000 casks being performed entirely by hand. The Family Casks collection, the perfect illustration of this long tradition, brings together 43 successive vintage bottlings dating from 1952 to 1994, each one a single cask bottled at cask strength.
