All about making whisky
The Pierre Ferrand estate is located in Angeac, in the golden triangle of Cognac, right in the heart of the limestone terroir of Grande Champagne. Distillation is carried out in small pot stills (25 hl) in order to gain a maximum concentration of aromas. A grand terroir, small stills and an ancient craft are all brought together to produce the finest spirits! It was in 1775 that France’s first gin distillery was born, in the heart of the citadel of Dunkirk, thanks to the granting of royal privilege. Because it was a contraband product destined for England, this gin was originally transported in small casks. In 1989, a century after its disappearance, this artisan gin was given a new lease of life with small cognac stills from the Pierre Ferrand distillery.
