Known as one of the tea industry’s greatest experts, Yu-Hui Tseng opened the largest tea store in the world in 1995, the Maison des Trois Thés, in the heart of Paris. Her expertise extends from tea plantations to the finished product. She selects and purchases the leaves on the bush, draws up her specifications and oversees the production of the tea. Known for the remarkable precision of her sense of smell and her palate, she has trained the greatest noses in perfumery, and top sommeliers and chefs in the world of French gastronomy, in the appreciation of a product that can involve complex notions of climate, terroir, vintage, variety, and even the age of the tea plant.
