All about making whisky
Established in 2004, Grace Rum Co Ltd set up its distillery on the island of Minami Daito. It chose to build this distillery on the site of the island’s former airport and from there produces two rums under the names Cor Cor Green and Cor Cor Red. These two sugar cane eaux de vie - Red, a traditional rum distilled from molasses, and Green, an agricultural type rum distilled from freshly-pressed sugar cane juice - express the full richness of sugar cane. Cor Cor is the diminutive form of “coral” and “corona”. Together Cor Cor is short for Crown of the Coral, a reference to the shape of the island and its coral reef.
