All about making whisky
Big Peat Feis Ile Limited Edition was released in honour of Islay’s Annual Festival of Malt & Music. Its bottle and tube are adorned with Islay’s most notable landmarks; the round church at Bowmore and Port Ellen’s Kildalton Cross feature amongst a collage of travel stamps, in a colourful, hand-drawn design with Big Peat himself at the forefront. In line with the family philosophy, Douglas Laing’s Big Peat Feis Ile Limited Edition is proudly without colouring or chill-filtration, and bottled at high alcohol strength, 48% - 48 is also the number of bottles allocated in France.

Using the most famous single malts of the Isle of Islay, including Bowmore, Caol Ila, Ardbeg and Port Ellen, the Douglas Laing company has created an original blended malt (a blend of various single malts). Its label features a picture of Pete the Ileach being hit by a strong gust of wind. Big Pete is both a tribute to the residents of the island and a play on the word “peat”. A celebration of the Isle of Islay - of its inhabitants, its weather and its whisky - Big Peat is un-chillfiltered and comes in three sizes - small, medium and large - enough to satisfy the needs of all its fans, even the most lionhearted!
